Abstract
Grief has many sounds including “hopelessness, despair and loss of meaning of life,” says Ukrainian, Nataliia Kurhan. This soundscape presents many griefs of this war which Nataliia describes after fleeing Ukraine when the war began. She reveals the strength, steadiness, and courage required to survive this war. Included are segments of air raid sirens recorded by her friends in Dnipro, Ukraine, shown in borders of visual image, as well as segments of vocal, choral, and piano compositions I composed and performed in Canada and USA in response to Ukrainian grief.
