Kotiin eristäytyminen ja etäpäivät ovat vähentäneet ihmisten liikkumista niin paljon, että se näkyy maapallon tärinässä, kertovat mittaukset eri puolilta maailmaa.
Tutkijat, jotka seuraavat maapallon vaipan liikehdintää maanjäristysten ja tulivuorenpurkausten ennakoimiseksi, ovat havainneet seismisen aktiivisuuden vähentyneen, kun liikennevälineet eivät jyristä kaduilla, teillä ja raiteilla.
Muutos on havaittavissa seismiseksi meluksi kutsutussa pienessä värähtelyssä, jota aiheuttavat kaikki pallomme pinnan tapahtumat meren aalloista ihmisten liikkumiseen ja teollisuuden paukkeeseen. Oman osansa antaa jopa jokainen kävelijä.
